All are invited to join us on this laid-back, Groundhogs Day run!
We will be hitting up Montana Mountain, east of Phoenix. This should be a good adventure run for all AZFJ's from stock to Homedad I know there are several off-shoots to go play around on along the way, so we will be sure to make time for that. We will also be doing some geocaching, so those interested bring your gps! Plan for an all day run, and in R2FJ tradition we will end the day with food at the rumored wonderful pizzareia in Superior before heading back to the valley.
For more info on the trail, see Mike's awesome write-up here
Details:
Meet up at Gold Canyon Star Mart 7138 E US Highway 60 Apache Junction, AZ

Holy crap, you linked to my thing! I love it...
I'd like very much to come, but won't be able to say for sure if I can until about a week out (to see how school is going). But, that shouldn't be a problem for anything.
Good stuff, great post!

Sounds fun. We'll have to see how the kid's soccer schedule shapes up before we commit. But put us down as a maybe.

Im sure I can talk the wife into this run again. I know she liked this one last time except for the scratchy section that we can avoid this time.
If there anyone overly worried about getting AZ pinstriping you can totally do this run. As long as you stay on the main trail and don't do any of the offshoots. You miss out on some cool stuff, but if your situation is like mine you will also miss out on a wife being ummm not so happy. I think it is a fare trade. The main trail is very very scenic though.
Hmmm maybe I can bring my hedge trimmers this time. What do you think Jonnie??

I still need to work out the rotating blades attached to the front bumper...

Please.... Pumbaa does not avoid pin striping, he goes after it...! The more the better...!!!
I remember the first time we went out with Mike, he was worried about pinstiping... and now look at him... its all down hill from the first scratch...

I just ran across that threat yesterday. Pretty sweet. I just think it would fade here in AZ and mud would be no fun to scrub off. Maybe they could clear coat it or something though. Still super cool.

The normal application (bed liner) never seemed to be a big deal to clean so I'm pretty sure cleaning it isn't a problem. It is guaranteed against fading as well, there's a company here in Phoenix that does nothing but Line-x (http://arizonaline-x.com/), so I'm pretty sure they have something to prevent it from fading.
My biggest concern is heat. I'm not sure adding several layers of plastic like material around the engine bay is such a good idea. I really wanted to hear from the owner of that red truck above on how it's holding up for her, but she's been MIA.
